How the shadow gap works

A dedicated aluminium profile holds the membrane away from the wall and creates a controlled open gap. The dark line emphasizes room geometry and works especially well with flush walls, curtain niches, track lighting and linear light.

Where it works best

Shadow-gap ceilings are commonly chosen for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and modern commercial spaces. The detail is visually minimal, so wall preparation matters more than with a standard profile: uneven plaster or irregular corners remain more visible.

Price

Starting level: from $45/m². Final cost depends on area and perimeter, number of corners, curtain niches, beams, lighting and special junctions. A narrow room with the same area as a square room can require more profile and labour because its perimeter is longer.
